You don’t need to go all crazy with the brightness of your tree lights. After all, you are trying to add a little ambiance to your outdoor environment, not spook your guests.
The most important thing here is how many lumens you are trying to bring out. You don’t want to wake up in the middle of the night blinded by the brightness.
You want to keep it reasonable. If you are lighting a 9 foot tree, you want to keep the light output at 1,000 lumens.
For very small trees, around 4 feet and even lower, you can get away with fewer lumens and less brightness. These numbers are based on the maximum brightness of the unit.
