What is a solar power system? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this type of electricity? What types of solar cells are on the market? Is a frequently asked question by households and businesses who are interested in the field of renewable energy sources.
What is solar power?
Solar power is a clean energy source, using photovoltaic cells to convert sunlight into electricity based on the photoelectric effect mechanism in physics. This is an extremely clean, reliable renewable energy source that brings a lot of value to people. The successful exploitation of solar energy not only does not affect the environment but also brings countless other beneficial effects.
The main component in solar cells is pure silicon – containing on the surface a large number of light sensors are photodiodes, which convert light energy into electrical energy. These photovoltaic cells are protected by a transparent glass on the front and a plastic material on the back. The whole thing is vacuum packed through a polymer resin that is as transparent as possible.
Silicon materials that make up solar cells are divided into 3 types from monocrystalline, polycrystalline or thin-film silicon. Each type of material has different efficiencies from 15% to 20% and is suitable for financial capabilities and installation purposes.
Solar power extraction method
There are two methods to harness solar power: active mining, passive mining.
Passive method: is to use the principle of heat capture in the structure of building materials.
Active method: this is a modern method that uses special equipment to collect energy from solar radiation. Then use a fan or pump system to distribute solar power.
